Harley Purnell, Director and Principal Lawyer of Tallwood Law, was admitted as a Solicitor of the NSW Supreme Court in 2013 and subsequently admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 2017.
Harley has held senior roles with some of the world's largest and most respected organisations, both private sector and public sector including as a Senior Legal Consultant with Deloitte and ANZ Banking Group as a Legal Counsel to the Chief Risk Department (Sydney Metro), and most recently as a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Major Projects team with Clayton Utz in Sydney.
Harley is a trusted advisor to major Australian corporate, State, Territory and Commonwealth government agencies, SMEs and individuals, mostly in sophisticated and complex matters, and is widely regarded by his clients as commercial, pragmatic and effective in his approach to problem solving and the law.
Advised the Northern Territory Department of Defence and Emergency Services on procurement matters and application of s114A of the Police Administration Act (NT).
Provided legal counsel to the NT Department of Land Planning and Environment regarding cycling and walking infrastructure development.
Managed procurement and construction contracts for major Northern Territory infrastructure projects.
Drafted and negotiated General Public Act compliance and Intellectual Property contracts.
